JOIN THE "DRIVE TO SERVE" 750,000 MEAL PLEDGE (FEB. 20th, 2012)

 

On February 24th and 25th, employees from the Luther Family of Dealerships will join forces with friends, family and the community to pack 750,000 meals for Kids Against Hunger to help feed hungry children in the United States and throughout the world.

An estimated 2,900 volunteers will be needed to complete the monumental task, and the broader community is encouraged to join in and help meet the goal. 

“Kids Against Hunger provides life-saving meals for starving and malnourished children and their families - and we share their passion for this important cause,” said David Luther, President of Luther Automotive.

During the two-day Drive To Serve event, volunteers will assemble the ingredients in specified orders and quantities, weigh and seal the bags of food, and box them up and load them onto pallets to be shipped to their final destination. The high-quality, nutritionally complete soy and rice mix includes protein, carbohydrates and vitamins. Each serving requires only one cup of water.  This is Luther’s second year working with Kids Against Hunger. Last year, the group packed more than 500,000 meals in four days.
